Gone are the simple, handcrafted toys that lasted a good 10 years and in their place have come the technically advanced all-singing, all dancing gadgets that are lucky to survive for a couple of days in a child’s hands. Rag dolls. There is something very satisfying about a toy so simple. Once upon a time every little girl had a rag doll and they would go everywhere the child went. Among their most appealing features was the ability to wash them simply by dunking them in warm water and not having to worry about bits breaking or falling off. Nowadays kids prefere babies with electrically moving parts and voices. You’re not meant to wash them in the same way but I urge you to try.
